  • "POP '67" – Music from the Summer of Love

    "POP '67" is a vocal group featuring two men and two women performing the greatest songs of one of the most creatively prolific eras in the history of popular music. Songs include: the Mamas and the Papas, CALIFORNIA DREAMIN and MONDAY, MONDAY; the Beatles, GETTING BETTER, FIXIN’ A HOLE and WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS; Aretha Franklin, CHAIN OF FOOLS, along with many other favorites such as: HAPPY TOGETHER, CARRIE ANN, UP, UP AND AWAY, INCENSE AND PEPPERMINTS, WINDY, GROOVIN, AQUARIUS and many, many more.

    The show features segments highlighting: the Monterey Pop Festival; soul music with numbers such as EXPRESSWAY TO YOUR HEART, 25 MILES TO GO and Otis Redding's, SWEET SOUL MUSIC; folk music with selections from Simon and Garfunkel such as SOUNDS OF SILENCE and HOMEWARD BOUND; the protest movement with Buffalo Springfield's FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH; flower power with Beatles ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE and of course the psychedelic rock and pop of Janis Joplin, the Jefferson Airplane, the Doors and the Grateful Dead.

    With 35 songs packed into a 90 min show and played against a backdrop of video projections depicting iconic images of the era, "POP '67" delivers powerful and faithful renditions of the music and rich vocal harmonies. POP '67, with the addition of sometimes informative, sometimes comedic, sometimes poignant dialogue and stimulating visual imagery, creates a thoroughly satisfying and entertaining theatrical show.   • MANNY MOREIRA has been active as a guitarist, singer, producer, arranger and composer in New York City for 30 years. He has performed and toured nationally and internationally from Lincoln Center to Ronnie Scotts in London and has worked with legendary names in the music business both on stage and in the studio. Some artists he has performed and or recorded with include: ANN-MARGRET, HELEN REDDY, EARTHA KITT, GERRY MULLIGAN, RON CARTER, PHIL WOODS, CAROL KING, JOHN SIMON and TONY winners PAULO SZOT and LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA. Most recently he was the guitarist for the TONY award winning Broadway musical, IN THE HEIGHTS and performed on the GRAMMY winning recording of the show. Other B’way credits include the WHO’S TOMMY, ELTON JOHN’S, AIDA and SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ, the songs of LEIBER ad STOLLER. He was the original conductor and guitarist for LOVE, JANIS at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Currently he is the guitarist for the Nickolodeon television series, DORA THE EXPLORER. His original composition CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK aired nationally on CBS on Christmas day. In 2003 he was selected by the United States Dept. of State and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to represent the United States as a JAZZ AMBASSADOR on a goodwill tour of Africa. Mr. Moreira studied music at the Juilliard School in New York City and acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. He is currently collaborating on a musical play with Matt Landers entitled NOW & THEN and is the artistic director of the NEW DECO ORCHESTRA.

  • DENISE SUMMERFORD has appeared on Broadway in such shows as Taboo, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Saturday Night Fever and Grease. She has played leading roles in the Broadway touring companies of Leader of the Pack, Grease, Company and The Who's Tommy. Denise received a Drama Desk Award for her work in the hit a cappella musical In Transit and was also in the original cast of the Off Broadway musical Shout!. A dynamic singer, Denise has drawn praise from around the music scene with her series of solo concerts in and around NYC and can be heard on various voice-overs, jingles and recordings. She has sung with many national and international recording artists including Boy George, Sheena Easton, Deborah Gibson and the legendary Lou Christie and Leslie Gore.
  • DIANE GARISTO began her performing career at the age of ten, singing "Yabba-dabba-doo" in a Flintstone's Vitamins jingle. From that auspicious beginning, she's forged a career that's taken her into the studio and around the world, recording with such industry notables as Carly Simon, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Laurie Anderson, and Steely Dan, with whom she also toured extensively. She had the good fortune to sing on Paul Simon's multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning "Graceland" and Billy Joel's evocative "River of Dreams," and has lent her voice to innumerable television and radio commercials. In a richly varied career, she's appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman," "Saturday Night Live," and "The Today Show," and has shared the mike with a long list of vocalists, from Patti LaBelle to Laura Nyro. She is currently working on her first solo CD, "The Songwriter's Daughter."

    Billy has been one of the most sought after vocalists in the Tri-State area for many years. He has performed from Las Vegas to Hong Kong. He is also one of the most versatile vocalists around. This versatility shines through in his new show "Rockers and Crooners".
